Description: This shotgun was presented as a WWI Trench Gun however, it is not. The Remington UMC Model 10-A Trench Gun was produced with a 23" Cylinder bore barrel, with bayonet attachment and wood upper handguard. The receivers were stamped with the U.S. Ordnance Flaming Bomb on the left side. The serial number of this shotgun appears a bit early but falls within the range recorded for the U.S. Order however, of the 3500 made for the military, After the war, virtually all were cut down to 20" barrels and had their bayonet attachment and upper handguards removed for conversion to Riot guns for use as prisoner or factory guarding. The Marine Corps did use these shotguns in limited numbers until the mid 1930s. In closing, this shotgun, although rather rare these days is most likely not associated with the United States Marine Corps or World War I.
