Listed is a Winchester 1892 Eastern carbine in 38 WCF (38-40 wcf) manufactured in 1928 with the mfg. serial number of 992000 and a 20 " round barrel. This 1892 carbine has no saddle ring or stud attached as it was not issue from the factory in 1928, it appears that after 1924 you could have the carbine with the saddle ring or the absence of the saddle ring. This unmolested Eastern carbine has a minty bore with sharp rifling and NO pitting. The sights are original and in very good condition, a 20" barrel and full magazine displaying 90% bluing with fading deep blue gray under normal ambient light. The smooth American walnut rates fine with very few dings with no splits or breaks noticed and proud to the metal in all areas. The receiver shows typical flaking in the finish, primarily a plum and light gray patina with areas of bluing showing on the upper and lower tang areas, extractor, hammer and lever. A very respectable 1892 Eastern carbine with a very nice clean bore and retains just enough condition to enjoy in the field or the range. This is a excellent example of a highly desirable variation of the model 1892 carbine that would make a nice addition to ones collection or a perfect classic hunting carbine. C&R accepted mfg. 1928.
