Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: ****SOLD**** Colt Model 1909 fitted with a 5 1/2 inch barrel, smooth walnut grips, fixed sights, is blue finished, and chambered in .45 Long Colt. This 1909 is marked/stamped as follows: The left side of the barrel is marked “COLT D.A. 45”. The underside of the barrel is marked “”UNITED STATES PROPERTY””, “P”, and “R.A.C.”. The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A. / PAT’D AUG. 5. 1884. JUNE 5. 1900. JULY 4. 1905.”. The crane cut is marked “33987” over "U" & “A”. The crane is marked “K” over “33987”. The cylinder latch is marked “K”. The rear face of the cylinder is marked “R.A.C.”. The rear face of the cylinder release is marked “3987”. The right side of the frame at the rear is marked “R.A.C.” and at the top with “F.B.” monogram. The sideplate is stamped with the rampant colt over a stylized “C”. The bottom of the frame is marked “U.S. / ARMY / MODEL / 1909” and “No / 33987”. The bottom of each grip panel is marked “R.A.C.”. The inside of each panel has “33987” hand-written in pencil. This 1911 vintage Model 1909 is in fine condition, retaining 30% original blue, with balance having turned a silver/grey patina. The grips fit well and are in fine condition, are inline with the condition of rest of the gun, with minor handling marks a one chip on the left grip. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, with minor frost along the sides of some rifling. The action functions perfectly, with great timing and lock-up on all 6 cylinders.
