This is a UGLY pistol I purchased with the intention to have some custom work done to bring it back to NEW. I was taught a valuable lesson by the "Best Gunsmith in Houston" This pistol was missing it's rear sight and the front sight was installed by Millet's dual crimp style and would require a bit of welding work. Following discussions the commander was sent off and EVENTUALLY returned with the stamp of approval of the "Best Gunsmith in Houston". I emailed and called and was ignored by said gunsmith when I expected to be made whole by the experience. Now I have an even UGLIER pistol that needs different things done to it that it didn't before.
The BEST part of the whole story is after over a month of asking for something to be done about the NEW damage to my pistol to being ignored I gave up. Over a year later I get a tex from the good folks at the "Best Gunsmith in Houston" Hey there Just wanted to make contact with you and see if you had any projects you would like help with message. Thanks Amber for the SHOUT OUT!! Virtually a year to the day, they sent me a copy of the reciept of the bill I received.
So if anyone has a need for a "Custom" Series 70 Combat Commander make me an offer. Maybe we can work something out, or I will have to break down and buy a new slide and basically make a whole new pistol.
