Listing another military rifle of mine , this one came from a yard sale not far away, a bring back as their grandfather served in the Pacific as did my father . Has the Chrysanthemum ( Mum ) in place , the airplane sights , ( pretty cool ) the 16" bayonet and metal scabboard .I had to order screws on line to put her together as they apparently were lost along the way , taken apart to fit the soldiers seabag.it's to my knowledge a type 99 , sn 23857, built from what I'd read 1940-45, has the chrome barrel liner in its 26" barrel , how many of you's knew they, ( most ) came that way and with a detachable magazine as well. floor plate drops out like a pre-war model 70 Winchester. I load and shoot this one as I've a Sporterized one also, the bore is excellent. I made many shells outa 30/06 brass before I ran into some Norma brass. She's a little on the rough side but We're looking at a 80-85 yr old rifle here. Even has the dust cover and some if not a lot of original blue some rust or stained areas what can I say she's what she is .Only thing not original is the sling I stuck on it.
