Description:
Remington Rolling Block No. 5 Rolling Block 1902, chambered in 7X57 MM Mauser. Features include: 30 inch blued barrel, rolling block action, color case-hardened receiver, full musket type forend with two barrel bands, sling swivels, ejector. This Remington rolling block is part of the 1902 No. 5 models that were designed to shoot smokeless powder cartridges. Despite being outclassed by magazine fed rifles, these guns were exported throughout the world and used up through World War 1 by the French. This rifle has seen a fair amount of use, but the rifling in the bore is still good. The color case-hardened receiver has turned to a brown patina, but the bluing is still decent on the barrel. The stock has seen use with a fair amount of dents, scratches, and pits in the wood. Action works great. You can see the 7mm designation on the top of the barrel indicating this was chambered in 7X57MM Mauser. The bayonet is a Remington make with a hooked quillon. The bayonet is missing the push button that both locks in and releases the bayonet when mounted. 7x57 Mauser
