Synopsis: Scarce Swiss Commercial Bern 1929 Luger, P25243, FB00803 Description: Relatively few of the 1929 Bern Lugers were made for commercial sale. These guns were in a separate "P" serial range that started P25001, this was the 243rd that was manufactured, assembled on 5.40 (May 1940), later marked by owner. The gun has a 4.75” barrel with drift adjustable front sight and fixed “U” rear sight. Full matching serial number on barrel, left rail, and rear toggle link with last three digits repeated on sideplate and bottom of barrel extension. All small parts with usual inspector markings. Forward frame recess marked 5.40. W/F logo on back of frame. Ownership markings " E PLUS BADEN" on top of barrel and "W. MERKT." on left side of frame. Uniformly checkered brown grips with correct color-matched brown plug magazine. Condition: Near EXC original salt blue with freshened sideplate, minimal sharp edge wear. Mirror bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics.
