Here is a Rare Antique French Lebel Artillery Berthier Carbine Model 1892 manufactured by St Étienne one of the government state arsenal factory. It's an Antique NO FFL was manufactured in 1896. It’s chambered in 8mmx 50R Lebel the best caliber of its time. Unlike the cavalry Model 1892 Berthier which had no need of a bayonet lug (Mounted troop had a full size saber). Serial numbers are matching, receiver, bolt and wood rare enough for French Military rifles. With all the military approval markings. All serial numbers are matching rare enough to be mentioned on issued French battle rifles which served successefully for such long period (1892-1960). Scarcely found those Berthier Carbine Model 1892 as an Antique. The bore is shinning & excellent with sharp rifling. The original metal retains 85% of the arsenal St Etienne factory, the wood has the dents which served in many conflicts WWI & II, all are accuratly photographed. The action is firm and smooth. Those short and light carbines were favored by the infantery, rangers, reconnaisance chasseurs à pied, going from trenches, leaping over craters and holes, being more practical, easier to carry than the long and heavy Lebel 86-93 or Berthier 1907-15. It's a real collector piece of history in antique pre-1898 as it was produced in 1896 as is the 106 years ago the battle of Verdun which lasted 10 months and made 700,000 victims, 163,000 French & 143,000 Germans and 410,000 wounded on both sides. The approximative total of the WWI militaries and civilians togather were 9,000,000 killed & 200,000 wounded. What is not mentioned in the description can be seen on the pictures. I described it to the best of my knowledge. I haven't shot this, on one the picture I show bullets holes in a target where shot with the same kind of Lebel carbine at 75 yards. Ammunitions and accessories showed on one of the picture are not for sale. Please don't ask for extra pictures. Buyer is responsible for knowing all laws pertaining to this transaction.
