Description:
Browning Grade III 12 gauge O/U shotgun. This gun was engraved by the master Louis Vrancken who was ultimately responsible for some subtle changes to making the Gr III into the Pointer grade of the 1960’s! This is very example and double signed by the engraver. There is far more coverage and detail on this gun then what the final version of the Pointer has.
The buttstock is finely grained and perfectly suited for a Gr III/Pointer although this is a long tang, flat knob stock that was not available until the mid to late 1960’s so I can only assume that Browning restocked this gun! (Browning did a great job!) The matching forearm is the correct configuration for the late 50’s when this gun was made. 14 ½” LOP over a Browning trap pad, 1 7/16” DAC and 1 ¾” DAH with neutral to slight LH cast.
The 30” vent rib barrels are choked M/F. Middle and front beads. Gun weight 8 lbs. 2 oz. 98%+ overall condition.
