Description: Guns Listing ID: 1286417 The Nambu pistol was the standard issue officer‚‚s sidearm of the Imperial Jappanese military from 1904 to the end of World War II. Designed with with little influence from contemporary western designed sidearms, the Nambu is unique and distinctive in its aesthetic. The Type 94 Nambu was an evolution from the Type 14 Nambu that entered service with the imperial Japanese military in 1926. The design process began in 1929 and adoption into service occurred in late 1934 before full production began in 1935. 71,000 examples of the Type 94 Nambu were produced before poduction ceased near the end of World War II in 1945. Designed for use by Imperial Japanese tankers and air crews, the Type 94 is smaller and lighter than the Type 14 making it easier to carry than the much bulkier Type 14. This example was manufactured in February of 1940 and likely saw service in the Islands of the Pacific during World War II, as evidenced by its current condition. It comes with an original leather holster and a spare magazine. Condition: As mentioned, this pistol saw service in the Pacific Theater and its condition is a result of the harsh effects of the salty and humid air of the islands as well as significant time spent in the leather holster. The finish is significantly worn with substantial pitting but little to no discernible rust. The bore is in good shape. The leather holster is worn with a tear on the interior facing side SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: NAMBU Model: type 94 Caliber Info: 8X22MM NAMBU Condition: Used - Non-Certified Barrels: 4 BARREL |
