Payment Types Accepted: Description: For sale is an early model Allen & Wheelock Sidehammer .22 rimfire revolver from my personal collection. NOTE: This is intended for black powder .22s, not modern cartridges. It was made by Allen & Wheelock between 1858-1859 and the frame is not dated 1860. The barrel, frame, cylinder pin , and grips are all stamped with the matching number batch number, “110.” It has a grooved topstrap for sighting. The octagon barrel is 2” long with a good bore, with shine. All seven chambers are clean. The barrel is crisply marked "ALLEN & WHEELOCK, WORCESTER, MA U.S./ALLEN’S PAT'S SEPT. 7, NOV.9 1858." It has very good walnut grips that retain their original finish. The cylinder is roll engraved with five circular panels depicting mounted rider, standing Indian (seal of Massachusetts), ship and other military trophy deigns. The hammer cocks well and the cylinder cycles and locks. The cylinder pin enters from rear; there are nicks on the backstrap under the rod (shown), likely indicating removal of a stuck rod. This piece has a clean, even finish with a pleasing patina. Overall, it is in good to very good condition. I accept money order, bank check, or personal check. I ship after a personal check clears.
