Description:
This is an interesting and potentially very rare Colt Single Action Army. Based off serial number, this revolver was made in the late 1990s. It is designed to be an exact copy of an Ainsworth-inspected Colt Cavalry Single Action Revolver, down to the U.S. inspector's mark on frame and cartouches on grips. The only comparable example we could find of a 3rd Gen revolver with these features lettered as a prototype made as a payment/gift to David Lanara, where master gunsmith and Colt Single Action Expert and Restorer Dave Lanara built this gun in collaboration with Colt. It features the same 'L' signature inside the frame that Lanara put on his work. We reached out to Lanara who said he made this as a special order for a direct sale. This particular revolver is in near-mint condition with just a minor turn line on cylinder and a little wear on one of the screws. Minty bore. 7.5in barrel.
