Here we have a nice Savage Model 99 with EG on the front part of the receiver that is visible when the forearm is removed. Our dating research has come back with a manufacture date of 1943. For being over 80 years old, this rifle looks fantastic. The checkering on the stock and Schnabel forearm indicates post war. It has a 24\" barrel, 14-1/8 length of pull with an overall length of 44-1/4\". It does have the handy brass shell counter and a ramped front sight. It has a Marble Arms peep sight also installed and a Hawkins aftermarket recoil pad. There is some pitting on the receiver, but the bore is bright and the rifling looks great. The wood is also in fantastic condition with no apparent signs of cracking, stress points, or repairs.
