Description:
This Made-in-Japan right-handed bolt action rifle is a Weatherby Mark V Custom chambered in .30-06 Springfield. It has a grooved curved trigger, a Weatherby ventilated rubber butt pad, a Rosewood fore end cap, a hinged engraved floor plate, a diamond checkered fore arm and pistol grip, and sling studs top and bottom. Many have said that the Made-in-Japan Mark Vs are superior to the Mark Vs made elsewhere. The bluing is in overall good condition, showing some areas where the finish is mottled, but with no rust or freckling apparent. The wood stock shows numerous marks throughout, but no chips or cracks are observable. The bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling intact. Roy Weatherby introduced the Mark V bolt action rifle in 1957. This groundbreaking achievement was designed specifically for the high pressures at which the Weatherby belted magnum cartridges operated, and would elevate the Weatherby company to the status of a major player in the rifle business. In the early years the Mark V rifles were manufactured by J. P. Sauer and Sohn in Germany. Subsequently, and for many years, they were produced in Japan by Miroku. In 1995 production was moved to the United States. Regardless of country of manufacture the standards of quality, assembly, fit, finish, and accuracy have remained at the same high standard. .30-06 Springfield
