Description:
"

NSN, made in 1864, .58 caliber, 40"" round barrel. Barrel has been cleaned some time ago with scattered areas of oxidation visible throughout the surface. Lock plate and hammer are a darker patina, lock plate is marked "" Eagle/US-S.N.&W.T.C/FOR/MASSACHUSETTS"". A crack is visible that wraps from one side of the trigger guard to the other, going over the wrist. Nipple is missing and ram-rod is missing, action only holds at half cock. One of 11,000 manufactured for the Civil War.
