Description:
Little used Winchester Modelt 70 Featherweight in .223 Rem. This has factory installed open sights and is a pleasure to shoot. Perfect to start out your bride or young hunter. No alterations to the stock. LOP - 13 5/8", barrel is the slim contour, equipped with adjustable open sights and is 22" long. This is a short version push feed. Bolt cycles and feeds perfectly. Classic Winchester 3 position safety. Trigger is crisp, set at 3lbs and no over travel.
This is the classic featherweight layout, schnabel forend with red Winchester pad.
Slight wear at the muzzle otherwise, the metal is top notch. Some minor handling/use marks on the stock but hard to see.
If you are a Model 70 guy or gal, you know that Winchester did not make many like this. Open sights were usually on the bigger calibers. I have used this gun to practice for Africa on dangerous game. It is a scaled down version on my Model 70 in .375 H&H.
It is a fun gun to shoot.
