This Savage Model 170-C carbine is virtually as good as it gets !! Near impossible to improve on the condition on this very rare Savage carbine. The Model 170 was only offered for a very brief time by Savage and the carbine model was made in small numbers in the late 1970's-early '80s.
Most Savage collectors have never seen one let alone have the opportunity to buy one.
This gun is in "as new condition" both metal & wood finishes. 100% factory original. I believe the gun to be unfired once it left the factory. Shows no wear. Faint blue loss on mag tube from forend travel when action worked. One or two miniscule handling marks. "Swirl" marks on rear left side of buttstock are in/under the finish... not damage.
Obviously a mint bore. For an unknown reason the magazine retaining screws show slight marring (perhaps at factory?) The photos represent the gun very well.
I have never seen this model before.
