"NSN, made in in 1864 and converted circa 1865-1867, .58RF, 31.5"" round barrel. Bore has scattered areas of heavy oxidation with frosting visible in the grooves, rifling does remain strong. Breech is correctly marked, lock plate is marked ""EAGLE/US-PARKERS' SNOW & CO./MERIDEN.CONN"" Stock has been shortened to an overall length of 43.75"". A crack is visible at the rear of the lock plate going to channel. Left side has crack noted above and below rear screw. Action does function correctly by holding at half and full cock. One of approximately 2000 converted rifled muskets.
