About Us: Michael D. Ullman has made his living in the firearms trade full-time since 1996. From 1996 - 2005, he was the sole proprietor of Frontier Gunsmithing, in Eads, CO, where he specialized in firearm repair and restoration of cartridge arms of the American West. He was also taking custom gun commissions working primarily on single shot rifles. In 2005, he moved to Texas where he began working for Hill Country Rifles and did so until 2017. In 2014, he acquired the assets of J&R Engineering and formed Ullman Precision Products. He left HCR to dedicate more time to creating custom heirloom quality firearms. Michael’s work has been featured in Gunmaker Magazine, Rifle Magazine, and Tom Turpin’s book “Modern Custom Guns, 2nd edition.”

This beautiful Mini Hagn was an 11 year project completed by Michael D. Ullman.
Hagn Mini action fitted with a 20-inch Kreiger barrel - half octagon to half round, with two wedding bands and an oval at the transition point. The quarter rib with its sight island, the sling stud, and the front sight are all integral to the barrel. The front sight features a woolly mammoth ivory bead and a gold triangle inlaid into the rear sight. The stock is made from Turkish walnut. Ebony with a widow’s peak was used to cap the 7-inch-long forearm. The buttstock is fitted with a petite-sized custom two-screw grip cap and a small steel buttplate.The rear sling swivel matches the front and is inlet into an island on the buttstock that, like the panels and cheek piece, has a tiny shadowline. This Mini Hagn stock is checkered at 32 Lines Per Inch with a borderless pattern that wraps around the forearm and over the top of the grip. Engraved with a beautiful English rose and scroll featuring a unique cross-over scroll in the corners of the action. There are bouquets on each side of the action, the bottom of the lever, and the grip cap. The metal parts were polished to a 400-grit finish and then rust-blued, except for the French-greyed action, niterblued
trigger, and front sight blade.
