This is a gorgeous example of a rare and early Colt "National Match" 1911A1 sold in the commercial market in ~1937. It's estimated that only 3,000 were produced for U.S. domestic sales. It is all correct, the right side of the slide is labeled "National Match Colt", and the right side of the frame is marked "Government Model". It has retained about 97-98% of its original Colt bluing. There is minor wear concentrated around the high edges of the slide around the muzzle. Minor spotty oxidation on the front strap. Comes with excellent wood grips and a period-correct magazine. The magazine is two-tone and marked 'COLT .45 AUTO' on the base. Excellent bore. No Swartz Safety but this is likely correct as it was introduced later in 1938.
