S O L D . . . . . . . . . .3 BAND, NOT 2..... LAYAWAY?.....LOOKS MUCH BETTER IN HAND... .58 caliber, 40" barrel, Dated on the top of the breech of barrel 1858, lockplate dated 1858. V P and Eagle on the left flat of barrel near the breech. Eagle on the Maynard Tape primer cover and forward section of the lockplate marked U.S. Harpers Ferry. Marked on the right flat of barrel near the bolster W.C.K. upside down. Three flat bands with "U". Brass nose cap, iron buttplate, iron triggerguard, cupped ramrod. Stock with proper cartouches on the flat on the left side S B in oval, stands for Samuel Byington. In the rear on the flat is JAS in an oval. John A Schaeffer was the inspector. All metal has been lightly cleaned with some very light staining. Overall sharp and crisp. The stock is untouched with open grained dark look. Two readable cartouches. The bore is bright and shiny.
