Description:
Colt SAA US Model Cavalry revolver 7 1/2" barrel. Made in 1874. Very low serial number- #10635. With Kopec "SILVER STAMP" Letter. Excellent mechanical condition. Locks up right, clocks right, all 4 clicks work, most screws are good, nice hammer, nice grips with 4 notches, overall good metal-no rusting-no pitting. Bore is good with minor clouding. Metal is nice graying brown patina. Numbers all match-A on cylinder-#0549 (Kopec "Campfire Switch" - "Enhance Collector Interest").-UNCUT very early Calvary Colt. Even the Blue Book says these are very difficult to find and many have been altered. This one in unaltered. Small a for the inspector is also correct. Numbers are clear and scripted/angled as they should be. Two-patent dates for early gun-Sept. 19,1871 and July 2,1872. Correct barrel address. Rod is correct and in good condition. No records for Colts before 30,000. This is probably one of the few that wasn't cut off later and could have been issued to the Seventh Cavalry as a replacement. RARE chance to own a matching piece of history.
