Serial # 4251217 places the manufacture date roughly in March 1944, prior to D-Day. This carbine was fitted with a rarer Marlin barrel that has an excellent M.E. of 1.7 and a proper SN marked front sight. NO IMPORT MARKS. Trigger group is Inland marked. Slide is a proper type 5 N15. Bolt is a blued round type 3. This carbine is in late war configuration with an I.R.CO. type 3 rear sight, Q marked type 3 barrel band, and an excellent condition walnut Springfield Armory stock. This very solid all GI carbine should provide another 80 years of service and enjoyment. Note to prospective buyer : This M1 Carbine is from my own personal collection.
