Designed by John Browning, the Winchester Model 1897 is a pump action, 12-guage shotgun first introduced in late 1897. It was a variant of the Model 1897 that became known as the \"trench gun\" or \"trench sweeper\". The trench sweeper variant had a 20-inch barrel, heat shield and bayonet lug, giving it a distinctive profile that remains iconic.
This example is a standard grade 1897. It is in good condition with finish wear on the receiver and barrel. The forend pump and stock have only minor dings and scratches and a recoil pad has been added to the stock.
