Barrett Model 99 chambered in 50 BMG. The Barrett 99 has been brilliantly designed to provide match-winning accuracy in a durable package with surprisingly few moving parts. It offers new levels of long-range precision shooting with it known dependability and versatility. Features include a fluted match grade barrel, a 3-port high efficiency mussle brake, a match quality trigger, and an easy feed, single shot 1-piece action. The .50 Browning Machine Gun caliber cartridge was developed for the M2 Browning heavy machine gun in the late 1910's. Due to the high ballistic coefficient of the bullet, the .50 BMG's trajectory also suffers less "drift" from crosswinds than smaller and lighter calibers, making the .50 BMG a good choice for high-powered sniper rifles. .50 BMG
