Description:
The James-Younger Northfield Bank Raid Tribute Rifle is a working replica of the Remington rolling block rifle in caliber .45-70, produced by Davide Pedersoli. Northfield is famous for the Sept. 7, 1876 bank robbery, when the James-Younger Gang, the notorious Jesse James and seven others, tried to rob the First National Bank of Northfield. Northfield's residents took matters into their own hands, ambushing the riders and ending the robbery. This tribute rifle show portraits and illustrations of the James-Younger Gang and the courageous Northfield residents engraved in 24-karat gold. On the left of the receiver are detailed portraits of the outlaw Frank James and Northfield hardware merchant and hero, A.R. Manning who killed outlaw William Chadwell. The right side of the receiver has a portrait of brave bank teller Joseph Lee Heywood, and bank robber Cole Younger, who became notorious along with his brothers for robbing banks, coaches and trains throughout the Western frontier. Also pictured is the infamous Jesse James, the legendary outlaw that managed to evade authorities throughout his entire 16-year criminal career. Comes in a hard case with manual, lock, and America Remembers "Certificate of Authenticity". Number "29 of 500". .45-70 Government
