Description:
This is a very nice example of an early Smith & Wesson K-22 Outdoorsman, 1st model revolver with a 5-screw frame and a 6" pinned barrel . Production on the K-22 Outdoorsman began in 1931 and ended December 28, 1939. The left side of the barrel is marked "SMITH & WESSON", and the right is marked "22 LONG RIFLE CTG". The butt of the grip frame, rear face of the cylinder, underside of the ejector star and barrel flat are marked with the serial number. The front of the barrel flat is also marked "B". The left side of the frame has the Smith & Wesson monogram logo and the right side of the frame is marked "MADE IN U.S.A.". The top of the barrel is marked "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS U.S.A. / PATENTED FEB 6. 06 SEPT. 14. 09 DEC 29. 14". The rear of the hammer and trigger are marked "REG. U.S. PAT. OFF". The front sight is a blade with a brass insert pinned to a base on the barrel. The rear sight is a flat top, square notch leaf in a base that is adjustable for windage and elevation. The rear sight base is flush with the top strap. The replacement grips are two-piece checkered walnut with smooth diamonds and S&W monogram medallions. .22 Long Rifle
