Safari has been cancelled…no longer need/want this fine rifle.  This is a stunning, full-custom Mauser built by Bruce Dawson of West Plains, MO on a Parker-Hale Brno ZG-47 double square bridge commercial Mauser action with a 25” Douglas Premium barrel, NECG banded front sight, banded sling stud, island express rear sight with one standing and three folding leaves that have not yet been regulated for a particular load.  The barrel is machined with a step in front of the rear sight and the sight surfaces are stippled to refract sunlight.  The action is mounted with Alaskan Arms quick detach lever release rings, the best on the market, that will allow the Kahles 3-9×42 premium scope (duplex reticle) to be removed and reinstalled without loss of zero.  Other nice touches include a Jerome Glimm bolt handle with three panel teardrop checkering, a Blackburn trigger and bottom metal that straddles the floorplate and releases cleanly with a trigger bow release.  The English walnut stock blank chosen for this outstanding custom rifle has perfect layout for strength, with dark mineral streaks, straight through the wrist, and lots of swirl and contrast creating a beautiful statement of color and contrast.  The sculpted nose of the comb, cheek piece with shadow line, ebony forend tip are complimented by precise point checkering wrapping the forearm and a case colored, subtly engraved steel grip cap.  The inletting and stock shape are perfection and the butt terminates with a checkered steel buttplate with widow’s peak.  This is an exemplary work of the stock maker’s functional art setting this rifle off as truly special.  The 9.3×62 cartridge has staked its place in the big game world as a very capable and available round, even being utilized on thin-skinned dangerous game.  It is certainly capable for any game on the North American continent and known to be a very accurate round.  A custom Mauser big-game rifle is more than the sum of its parts, and this rifle has been produced with knowledge, skill, and professional attention to detail.  This is a rifle that shows “as new” with no field use, ready to become yours at a very fair price.  See the specifications below.  Thanks for looking!
