Description:
----------
SOLD!!! on 8/28/24. The buyer also purchased my '64 Pointer Grade Broadway at the same time. Thanks, Tom - and Congratulations!
----------
Serial Number:
63270 S6 was originally a ‘factory’ FN A1 Grade that was ‘custom’ upgraded to Exhibition wood and game scene layout similar to the FN D4 style. 32" Broadway (16mm) rib barrels choked Improved Modified / Full (.026”/.035”) with semi-beavertail 'Trap' forearm. Dimensions: 1-3/8” x 1-9/16” x 14-3/4” to original Browning Trap recoil pad. Weight: 8lbs-3oz. Condition: 95-97% condition Square Knob, Long Tang Stock with large pistol grip and right-hand palm swell. Checkering patterns ( 28 LPI) are very similar to FN patterns from this period.

Provenance: The original shipping date from FN shipping journals is December 1966 (source: FN Archives 10/29/15). The left-side barrel address 'Fabrique Nationale d'Armes de Guerre-Herstal Belgique' also bears the inscription "Schwarz Waffen, Bern" - a gun shop in Bern, Switzerland continued by the family of its founding gunsmith Hans August Schwarz (1873-1945) until the late-1960’s. As was common, FN A1’s (with minimal engraving) were ordered by various European agents for ateliers like Schwarz Waffen to upgrade the wood and have them custom-engraved per a client's wishes – this example in 'Mallards & Huns' subjects was engraved by C. Creusissi (a presumed Italian independent) as signed near the trigger. Serial # 63270 S6 bears no import stamps so it likely entered the US prior to passage of the ’68 Firearms Act.

Comments:
As a collector, I understand the importance of verifying as many details as possible to make an informed decision to pursue purchase. However, you will only be able to confirm the actual condition/details and either agree or disagree with my valuation, after personal inspection – so it is pointless to waste time (yours and mine) making a counter-offer or attempt to negotiate without benefit of in-person review. I have attempted to represent my items accurately and price them fairly, given my current knowledge of FN/BrowninG Superposed details and production history. Of course, I will try to provide what you may need (within reason and time constraints) to help you make an informed assessment and decision to secure inspection with return privelege.

Transaction Details:
Once a buyer notifies me and consents to pursue purchase, I will provide an address for mailing funds and a current copy of the receiving FFL. FFL-to-FFL shipments only. Buyer pays actual shipping costs (TBD) and insurance costs (UPS Ground) to lower 48. International shipments considered. Payment by Personal Check, Certified Check, or Money Order. Appropriate waiting/clearance periods apply to all. Electronic payments considered for convenience and to expedite the process. The receiver of the shipment shall be responsible for inspecting the package for any signs of impact or exterior damage to packaging and for notifying the carrier before opening and before the carrier leaves FFL's premises. The listed price basically secures a 3-Day non-shooting, non-disassembly inspection, and return privileges. Item does not leave the receiving FFL’s premises until either transferred to the new owner or returned via that FFL. 3 Day = Day 1 is when UPS delivers the package to your FFL. Day 1 or 2, review the item and make a decision. Day 2 or 3, notify me of your intent to keep or return the item. Day 3 - no later (if returning the item), provide a tracking number and confirmation of insurance for the listed price and have your FFL get it on UPS ‘pick-up’ before the end of business hours. If, after inspection, you do not agree with my valuation, just notify me and I will provide a return FFL address. Return item in the same condition and as packaged and insured for purchase amount to my FFL holder. I will re-inspect the item and refund the sale price less my initial shipping and insurance costs plus $35 (my FFL’s re-transfer fees) if the item's condition is verified 'as-sent'. Feel free to ask questions or request photos of specific views via e-mail feature below. Serious inquiries, only. I’m not opposed to one-on-one conversation to help you gain a comfort level with the item and seller. Thank you for your interest and consideration. Happy Hunting!
