Description:
This is a Browning model 1886 in 45-70 Government, a reproduction of the original Winchester which was designed by John Browning. The 1886 followed up the 1876, providing a much stronger action which was able to withstand larger and more powerful cartridges such as the .45-70, the issue rifle cartridge of the U.S. Army at the time. This Browning 1886 was manufacture in 1986 with a PT date code, "04693PT197". The barrel is a 26" octagonal with a beaded blade front sight dovetailed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a square-notch semi-buckhorn leaf and elevator sight dovetailed to the rear of the barrel. The stocks are 2-piece smooth walnut with capped forend, straight grip, straight comb, and blued steel crescent buttplate. Great condition with a little handling wear. Metal Condition: 98%. Light scratches on the right side of the receiver and the left side of the mag tube. The left side of the octagon barrel has a couple dings on one of the corners.
Wood Condition: 98%. A few light scattered dings and scratches in the stock / forend.
Bore Condition: Bright strong bore.
Barrels: 26" barrel.
Triggers: Single.
Fore End: Smooth.
Butt Pad: Metal.
