Description:
Weatherby Custom Shop Mark V bolt-action rifle in .460 Weatherby Magnum. This is a “Southgate” Weatherby, made by Howa in Japan. 26” heavy barrel with integral muzzle brake. Classic Mark V stock made of beautiful blonde walnut with fineline diamond-point checkering. Left-handed Monte Carlo cheek. “Custom Shop” with light floral engraving on the drop-out floorplate. Mounted with a Leupold 1x4 VX-II extended eye relief scope in Redfield mounts.
This is a wonderful example of a classic lefty dangerous game rifle. Very good + condition for its age, showing only extremely rare use. Light marks to the barrel are very hard to pick up by camera although there is some light bluing loss around the factory barrel ports. Light discoloration on a small patch at the rear of the right side of the bolt, shown in pics. Stock is near perfect with only a few very light marks to the finish. Factory Weatherby buttpad still retains proper softness. Scope is perfectly clear and shows no bluing or plum coloration. Excellent shootable and huntable collector’s rifle.
