This CM line of pistols is one of the more recent offerings in the evolution of the Kahr line of concealed carry pistols. The Kahr CM40 appears at first glance no larger than the CM9. But when you compare these two neat concealed carry pistols side by side, there are some subtle differences, with the end result being that the CM40 really is beefier and has more heft. it truly is both heavier, longer and thicker. The two ounces of extra weight are in the slide, as the slide on the CM40 is actually machine milled out of a solid block of 416 stainless steel. It is a lock breech, short action blow back system, with a DAO (double action only) trigger, with internal safeties, and a magazine catch after the last round is fired. .40 S&W
