Description:
The Winchester Model 290 is a semi-automatic 22 caliber rifle well suited as a plinking or small game hunting rifle. A 20-inch barrel is adorned with a fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight, while a scope rail allows users the option to attach a scope if they so choose. The Winchester 290 rifle is chambered in 22LR with a 15-plus-one-round capacity. A 20.5-inch barrel is adorned with adjustable sights. The wood stock features checkering at the grip and forend to ensure a steady grasp with each shot fired. The Winchester 290 will not fail to delight during a day on the range.
The Winchester Deluxe Model 290 semi-automatic .22 rimfire rifle debuted in the 1960s. Naturally, the Model 290 used short, long, or LR rounds. Capacity was 21 short, 17 long, or 15 LR rounds of 22 ammo. The receiver is grooved for tip-off scope mounts. At times the gun came standard with a front square post sight on a streamlined ramp and an adjustable for elevation rear square notch sight. At others, it came with a beaded post front sight on a streamlined ramp and a fully adjustable for windage and elevation open rear sight. For safety, the gun had a cross lock in the front top of the trigger guard. The Winchester Model 290 was made in New Haven, Connecticut. This Model 290 is in Very good plus condition with a jeweled bolt. It shows a few light handling marks on the stock.
