This is a very handsome pistol that has a box frame with centrally hung hammer, and integrally forged barrel. The brass has an overall ochre tarnish with small dark spots and minor impact marks throughout. The hammer has some mild pitting as well, and the trigger guard/bayonet latch has an overall plum-brown patina. The spring-loaded bayonet has a 2 7/8" blade with a firm spring deploys swiftly and locks firmly. The checkered walnut grip is in good shape, with some wear and flattening to the points, as well as diagonal cracks running back from the frame juncture on both sides. The action is functional, however the hammer does not lock back at full-cock, but rather fires from half-cock. This is a very nice bayonet-equipped pistol, in about very good condition, and would make a neat addition to a collection. Antique; SOLD Antique: Yes |
