had two identical guns ,with the same Unusual stocks but in different calibers One was 284 Dieble? That one had Elmer Keith's name stamped on the bottom of the barrel!!, The twin sister I purchased was in 30 Newton. The 30 Newton Case dimensions identical to the 338 WinMag without the belt and necked in 30 caliber, this caliber is today one of the most efficient cartridges for long range shooting, the 30 PRC is almost a clone ,brass could be made from 375 Ruger easily same case dimensions and I purchased 40 brand new pieces of 30 Newton brass recently, also comes with 30 Newton dies. these were long range customs. These long range rifles supposedly were taken on Sheep hunts, I know it sounds crazy. They must've been Hunting in a jeep , ? This gun is extremely long 34 inch long heavy target taper barrel .
Niedner considered the best barrel maker in his day with many innovative, custom options on the guns he made, butt plates,which is so common on custom guns.Also had an association with Charles Newton, possibly collaborated on this gun Charles Newton was far ahead of his time ,(condition beautiful original finish I would call it 85% what some freckling and small spots near the end of barrel , handling Marks possibly from a sheep hunt lol. nothing major nothing surprising except the scope not included,.The Eddy Stone military action 1917 is one of the strongest ones around somebody did a really good job with the trigger and the action is tight and in 30 Newton with a 34 inch barrel. !!! 1000 + yard range fun . It's definitely one of two of a kind and from a famous gun maker owned by possibly Elmer Keith.
