Custom Winchester pre-64 Model 70 .270 Winchester by Gil Van Horn. Serial 187821 has a 24-inch tapering sporter barrel (.630 muzzle diameter, banded sling swivel stud). Features include a rust blue finish, three-position safety and contoured bottom metal. STOCK: The AAA-grade claro walnut stock has exceptional end-to-end directional and crossing grain. Appointments include an ebony forend tip, 26 lines-per-inch borderless wrap checkering, scalloped cheek rest with shadow line, sling swivel studs, Pachmayr recoil pad and an oil finish. Bedding is full-length glass and and the action locks down on three aluminum pillars. DIMENSIONS: Weight (with optic) is 8.8 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.4 inches. CONDITION: The bore is outstanding, strong and bright. Metal finish is approximately 99 percent with trace indications of handling. Wood is approximately 98 percent with one impression on the shoulder of the cheek rest. OPTIC: A new Leupold VX3i 3.5-10x44 CDS-ZL with a Duplex reticle rides in Talley mounts.
