Description:
Serial #BHBR, 20 Gauge (2 ¾" Chamber), 28 inch barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is the Iver Johnson Champion break open, single shot hammer shotgun manufactured in Fitchburg, Mass between 1940 and the mid-1950's. In excellent condition, the barrel retains about 90-95% original blue finish with some scattered small use marks and scratches. The frame shows about 70-75% of the original vibrant case-hardened colors fading to pewter gray. The hardwood stock and forearm show are smooth with an excellent later added varnish with a chip at the toe that extends into the hard rubber Iver Johnson butt plate. It locks up tight with the barrel on face, the hammer lever resting just right of center. FFL or C&R
