AS you can see this stunning example has been meticulously fully restored with ALL original parts from the rifle no after parts. All work was done by EUBANKS GUNSMITHING OF OF IDAHO . THEY HAVE DONE PROFESSIONAL RESTORATIONS FOR SOME OF THE FINEST ENGRAVERS AVAILABLE.TODAY. Including ANGELO BEE and Pauline Muerrle the last living Winchester engraver. I took this 1890 22 SHORT out to the range today to make sure the all was working fineThese are the first rounds (20) since the restoration some years ago .
The action is tight needing more rounds to smooth it out over time. This rifle is in perfect condition in and out Like it left the WINCHESTER FACTORY yesterday! Again all parts are original except the new 22 SHORT sleeve I doubt you would have known unless I told you it been added . KEEP IN MIND THSE EARLY 1890'S CAN SELL FOR CLOSE TO 5 FIGURES OR MORE! WHAT MAKES THIS MORE RARE IT IS A " BROKEN MANUFACTORED " ONLY 1500 WERE EVER MADE. I HAVE LITTEL DOUBT THER ARE LESS THEN 500 STILL AROUND ! THE BARRELS MADE THEM USELESS IN SHORT TIME FROM THE EARLY PRIMERS DISTROIED THE LANDS AND GROVES.

This 1st model 1890 is known FOR HAVING A 1890 WINCHESTER BROKEN MANUFACTUREC the D was broken and it looks like a C. My rifle is a rare "BROKEN MANUFACTUREC " LESS THEN 1500 WERE MADE between 1890 and 1891 BEFORE WINCHESTER FOUND THE MISTAKE ! SEE MY SCANS
BARREL LENGTH IS 24 3/8 INCHES NOT A TYPICAL 24 INCH ON 2ND AND 3 RD MODELS .
AS SHOWN IN MY SCANS THE SERIAL # 4606 MADE IN August, 1891. Makes this fine rifle a very early example !
MANY OLDER MODEL 1890s HAVE HAD BARREL LINERS INSERTED IN BARRELS THAT ARE TOO BADLY CORRODEDTO SHOOT PROPERLY (page 99 Winchester side action rifles by Ned Schwing).
