Description:
This is a Antique Springfield 45-70 Carbine. The trap door is dated 1878 it has a 22" barrel the breach locks up nice and tight. The sight has a "C" on the side indicating it's for a carbine. The barrel has three grooves and has some pitting as expected for its age. The cartouche / inspection mark on the left side is lite but can still be seen. Great old piece of history that can still be used today. Should only be shot with Black powder loaded 45/70 cartridges.
