This rifle is chambered in .308 with a new Criterion barrel and NOT a re-chambered .30-06 with a chamber insert. This provides a lighter recoil rifle with easy to find and less expensive ammo. Throat erosion and muzzle erosion on this rifle is 0+ as it has only been test fired by the CMP. Stock is new production walnut with a small CMP cartouche on the left receiver area. Serial # 5312798 makes this a late Korean War era Springfield. Provided with the rifle is the Custom hard case with built in rust protection, owners manual, one 8 round enblock clip, chamber flag, and CMP certificate. This amazing condition rifle will make a great addition to your collection and prove to be a very accurate shooter.
