Description:
Manufactured by Beretta (approx 1967), this Weatherby Mark XXII is chambered in .22 LR. This combination blowback autoloader/single shot rifle is also paired with a Weatherby Mark XXII (Japanese-made) fixed 4X power scope with with an integral base that clamps directly to the dovetail rail atop the receiver, eliminating the need for scope rings.
The Mark XXII features a lever at the right rear of the action that switches function from semiauto to single shot. When switched to single shot, the lever stands straight up and activates an internal bolt catch. Pressing it forward releases the bolt, enabling it to feed a fresh cartridge from the magazine into the chamber, after which the rifle may be fired. Length of pull is 13.75 inches. Tang safety and 1 magazine included.
We see no wearing on the bluing, and the finish on the stock shows well with no cracking. Rosewood grip and forend caps. This rifle retains its original Weatherby buttplate and sling swivels. This is an excellent example for anyone's Weatherby collection!
