Winchester Model 1894 lever action rifle; 1906
Serial #307634, 30 W.C.F. has a 26” round barrel with a full magazine, straight grip walnut stock and standard forend. The rifle is sighted with a sporting-style rear sight and a rare Marble’s Duplex front sight, featuring a fine fixed bead and a larger bead on a hinged post
Condition
Bore is very good, lightly oxidized with strong rifling throughout. The barrel retains about 40% original blue, primarily in the protected areas the balance worn to gunmetal gray with scattered light handling marks. The magazine tube retains about 50% blue with light wear and oxidation staining. The receiver, forend cap, and barrel band have worn to gunmetal with some blue remaining in the protected areas, and light oxidation staining. The smooth straight grip walnut stock and forend are in very good condition was lightly cleaned long ago with some minor dings and light handling marks, remnants of an old finish on the sides of the buttstock. The crescent steel buttplate is proud at the toe and shows a pewter patina. Factory markings are intact and easily legible. The rifle is sighted with a sporting-style rear sight and a rare Marble’s Duplex front sight, featuring a fine fixed bead and a larger bead on a hinged post, This rifle functions perfectly and has been shot using factory ammunition. This is an honest 1906-made Model 1894 rifle, featuring a rare front sight option. and is ready for another 100 years of service.
