Description:
Manufactured in late 1944 and shipped in 1945 this unique war relic is a very interesting collectable. This gun wears the phosphate-type finish applied to US Property guns manufactured in the later period of WWII. As the pictures show, the gun has sharp edge wear and a few handling marks to the finish; no corrosion, dings or damage. The original, wood grips are free of cracks and chips; showing light wear. A factory letter from the Colt Historian is provided. The letter incorrectly notes that the finish on this gun is blue. The parkerized finish on this Colt is consistent with the type of finish that was applied to these guns in late 1944.
