long Rifle back in 1880 ! Winchester never made a model 1890 in this caliber because they never made a Long Rifle Carrier till 1919! The sales dept was totally unaware of the
product and not ready to market the gun! A order was sent to the shop to build 3000 ! ByJuly 19,1919 the factory delivered 1109, Long Rifles .The first 500 sent only had the 22
LONG R stamping NO 22 LONG RIFLE STAMP WAS MADE IN TIME TO SEND ALL IN A PROPER STAMPING........... BUY OR FIND A COPY OF NED SCHWING'S "BIBLE" OF
WINCHESTER - SLIDE ACTION RIFLES FOR THE FULL DETAILED STORY.
NOW ABOUT MY 22 LONG R. SERIAL # 638510 A (MADE 1919 SEPT). THE BARREL HAS ABOUT 90% ORIGINAL BLUING (SEE MY SCANS). THE RECEIVER HAS A
LIGHT BROWN PATINA AS IS THE LOADING TUBE AS WELL . THE BOAR IS NEAR EXCELLENT WITH DEEP LANDS & GROVES .ACTION IS TIGHT AND SMOOTH.
THE BUTT PLATE IS EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO BLUEING SCREWS ARE EXCELLENT WITH BLUING. SMOOTH TRIGGER PULL IS EXCELLENT AND BREAKS
LIKE A CARROT. THIS RIFLE IS A FINE TARGET RIFLE WITH GOOD HARMONICS. AS FOR THE WOOD AGAIN CHECK MY PHOTOS REALLY GOOD LOOKING WOOD
