Excellent gun for collectors. Model 42 Skeet Grade dated 1938, .410 Bore, Skeet Fixed Choke, 28\" Simmons Vented Rib Barrel with Red Bead Sight. Factory Winchester Rubber Recoil Pad, Target Grade Checkered Walnut Wood. I believe this gun was manufactured as a plain barrel and was later sent to Simmons in Kansas to have the vented rib installed. This is a beautiful piece of Winchester History as well as an ideal Skeet Gun.
Condition: Excellent
This gun has been excellently cared for. The wood is in excellent condition. There is one minor mark on the upper part of the stock where it meets the recoil pad - see pics. There are also some very minor dimples and marks on the finish of the stock as is very normal to see. The finish on the receiver and barrel is excellent, nearly 100%. At close inspection you can see some very minor spotting on the upper left side of the receiver, some minor scrapes on the top of the barrel rib and minor surface scratches on the receiver. Needs to be noted but nothing to be alarmed about. Gun functions perfectly.
