Listed is an Inland M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine type 1. This 30 caliber early paratrooper carbine was manufactured by Inland, a division of General Motors during WWII. This carbine was produced in 1942. The correct and original barrel is marked 10-42. According to the Inland archives held by the NRA Museum, paratrooper carbines started manufacture around ser #42,000 which makes this a very early example!
This is a type 1 with flip rear sights, high wood and no bayonet lug. 140,000 of the paratrooper models were made between 1942 - 1945.
This carbine is in excellent condition, and was stored away for a long time in proper conditions. This carbine retains approximatly 95% to 98% of its original finish.
The wood stock has unaltered high wood and is in excellent condition with a few minor handling marks and exibits all correct period cartouches and stamps. The metal folding stock operates perfectly and has no rust, pitting or blemishes and has all correct dimensions and foundry marks. The leather pad in the center of the folding stock is excellent with correct leather and rivits. This carbine and all parts are original since manufacturing including the magazine.
If you are a collector of M1 Carbines, then this is the cream of the crop and a must have for any collector!
