Description:
For consideration is a very nice Colt Combat Officers Model 1911 in .45 auto caliber. The Colt 1911 pistol is an iconic firearm. Designed by John Browning, the 1911 is the best-known of his designs to use the short recoil principle in its basic design. The pistol was widely copied, and this operating system rose to become the preeminent type of the 20th century and of nearly all modern centerfire pistols. It is popular with civilian shooters in competitive events such as the International Defensive Pistol Association and International Practical Shooting Confederation. This particular example was made in 1988 and is very good condition. The pistol is a two tone model with a black frame and a stainless steel slide with wraparound rubber grips with Colt medallions on each side. The 3 1/2" barrel is bright with strong rifling and has low profile combat style sights. The slide has very sharp cocking serrations, hammer has good grooves as does the trigger. There are a few light scuffs on the slide most likely from going into and out of a holster. The slide to frame fit is very good with little play. This pistol has mil spec style grip safety and thumb safety. The back of the grip has vertical grooves to improve grip security. The trigger is good for a carry style 1911. Box and one magazine are included.
