Description:
NSN, .41 Caliber, 2 1/2" barrels with very good, lightly pitted bores. These are handsome little box frame pistols with centrally hung hammers and sliding tang safeties. The brass has a pleasant yellow-ochre patina throughout, with some minor dark spots and small impact marks scattered about both pistols. The frames are engraved along the sides with stands of flags and "DUTTON" on the left, "LONDON" on the right. The flat-sided, bag-shaped walnut grips are in good shape with numerous handling marks and surface blemishes throughout the original oil finish, but no cracks or grain separations on either pistol. Both pistols are fully functional, including the safeties, and are in very good plus condition overall. Edward Dutton was a London maker who operated at Enoch Ct. ca. 1761 & 1783. Antique;
