Dated to January 1929 (BX) code. The Remington Model 8 was a John Moses Browning design patented in October 1900. This model was produced until 1936 when replaced by the Model 81. The .30 Remington Cartridge was Remington's answer to the .30-30 Winchester. Approximately 80,000 Model 8s were produced. The Remington Model 8 rifle was the first commercially successful semiautomatic rifle offered for civilian sale in the United States. .30 Remington
