Description:
This is a Gewehr M84/98 bayonet WWII pattern w/Bakelite grips. This fit the Mauser Gewehr 98 & Karabiner 98k which were two of the standard German infantry rifles. The ricasso is marked 42 cvl on one side and 4361 over b, on other side, this bayonet was made by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co. of Solingen. The non sharpened 9 7/8" (251mm) blade is in excellent condition with nearly all the original finish no wear or chips and an unaltered tip. The Bakelite handle has no cracks or apparent wear and is a deep brown color with a flashguard, the pommel has the double Waffenamt WaA519. The scabbard is not labeled. It is in very good condition with 85% - 90% of its bluing with a dusting of surface oxidation. Shows light wear, with small scratches and no real dents. Please see pictures for details.
